| Summary: |
The Jinka foundation has created this book for families
who are dealing with the loss of a child to use to open discussion
of death. |
| Critical Annotation: |
The author Molly Dingles, and illustrator, Aimee Bingler,
have combined their talents to create an effective book that can be
used with young children and their families to open the discussion
of death. It is a compelling story that will help families to unlock
the doors of grief when a child is lost. The illustrations created
with soft dynamic pastel strokes present an entrancing portrayal of
heaven and the happiness with which Jinka joins her grandfather and
other youngsters her own age. |
| Recommendations: |
This is a very well written book that will relate well
to many young readers. It is recommended as a basic book for any elementary
school library. It would make an excellent selection for a basic books
list for school libraries. |
